Congrats to WO Vogel for Passing NSCE

Canadian Army Cadets NSCE badgeCongrats to WO Vogel for passing his NSCE (National Star Certification Exam) this weekend!

  • The aim of NSCE is to certify that senior cadets have attained a level of proficiency in knowledge and skills to instruct and supervise junior cadets at the Local Headquarters (LHQ) and at Cadet Summer Training Centres (CSTCs).  NSCE testing is held every year between 15 Feb and 31 Mar.NSCE serves as a prerequisite for:
  • Master Cadet appointment;
  • Advanced summer training;
  • Selection as a CSTC staff cadet;
  • Selection for national and international exchanges.

This is a two phase process.  Phase 1 is the General Knowledge Examination (GKE) which WO Vogel has now passed.  Phase 2 consists of five Skill Tests that must be completed within a specified time limit.  The 5 skil tests are:

  1. Bushcraft
  2. Map and Compass
  3. Classroom Instruction
  4. Drill Instruction
  5. Physical Fitness
