Remembrance Week: Afghanistan – A Tribute
A Tribute to the fallen Soldiers of Canada While the entire Calgary Highlanders regiment did not deploy to Afghanistan, many Over 50 Calgary Highlanders were among the soldiers deployed there. Military Museums – Oct 13th
On Oct 13th, the Airdrie Army Cadets will be meeting at the Military Museums in Calgary to learn about the history of the Calgary Highlanders Regiment. Afterwards, there will be a test for new cadets to get their glens. Please bring a donation for the Veteran’s Food Bank.

Sgt Russell and Sgt Taylor of the Airdrie (Highlanders) 3016 Army Cadets in an odd tug-O-war at the Calgary Highlanders Family BBQ in Mewata Armoury. The Airdrie Cadets did a number of battles on this, but this was the most anticipated. I will try to post more soon.

There is a new exhibit at the Calgary Military Museums, put together by Sgt Russell. Tanks and Tartan: Soldiers for 100 Years is a joint exhibit commemorating the Centennial (1910-2010) of the founding of The Calgary Highlanders and The King’s Own Calgary Regiment. Calgary Highlanders Regimental News
Operations Afghanistan. There are currently 26 Highlanders deployed overseas. We expect them to return in May. Two corporals were injured in an IED attack 30 December.
